Although mountain snow melt and runoff are lower than usual this season, our stormwater maintenance crews are everywhere this time of year, cleaning out storm drains, clearing brush and debris from grates on waterways and reinforcing or replacing portions of our extensive storm water system. Public Utilities’ drainage network includes 343 miles of pipe, 113 detention basins and 108 miles of open ditches and channels. The work can be messy, so if you see our team members on a busy street or a muddy stream bank, give them safe space and a thumbs up!
