Salt Lake City Department of Public Utilities will host two public open houses this month to share updates on our new, $700-million Water Reclamation Facility (WRF). Our consulting architects, FFKR, will unveil their architectural vision for the facility–the only wastewater treatment and reclamation plant in Salt Lake City.
The current WRF is 55 years old, and has reached the end of its hard-working lifespan. Additionally, new federal and state regulations aimed at improving water quality necessitate our building of the new structure.
Our project team will review the latest plans in this extensive public works project (the largest non-airport infrastructure job in our city’s history) and invite community members to weigh in on other potential public uses for the facility, to be completed and on line by January 1, 2025. Join us!
